Happy National Bourbon Day! In honor of today’s celebration of the American spirit, here are some Bourbon staples for you to start aging in your own oak barrel.
Barrel Aged MANHATTAN
2 parts Bourbon
1 part Sweet Vermouth
2 oz Bitters
Luxardo Maraschino Cherry (for garnish)
Combine Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth and Bitters in barrel using funnel. Age to taste. Stir with ice and strain into a chilled glass. Garnish with a Luxardo Maraschino cherry.
Barrel Aged BOULEVARDIER
2 parts Bourbon
1 part Sweet Vermouth
1 part Campari
Orange Peel (for garnish)
Combine Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth and Campari in barrel using funnel. Age to taste. Serve on the rocks. Zest an orange peel into the drink and use as garnish.
Barrel Aged VANILLA BOURBON
1 part Bourbon
1 Vanilla Bean (per liter)
Combine Bourbon and Vanilla Bean in barrel. Age to taste. We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks. Bottle cocktail when satisfied.
